Dr Who
Sometimes I get requests for cards that require me to be a bit more creative than usual - this was one of those cards! I have a Dr Who choc mould so I melted some crayons in my melting pot. Bust out the Quickutz dies and this was the result.

Queen for the Day
Another lovely day here is Falkirk - got the last of the holiday washing done and dried! Just waiting for husband to "volunteer" to put it all away, think I'll have a long wait!
Been busy around the house too - have spent the last few days tidying the boys' rooms. How did they manage to accumulate so much??? We have anough books to open our own library, games galore and of course a thousand other things that I can't possibly throw out (according to the boys!). We could give a toy shop a run for its money. Also took the opportunity to sort out the boys clothes - 5 bin bags to the clothes bank, I couldn't believe it (neither could husband as he had the pleasure of arriving home from work to be told they needed to be taken to the clothes bank, ha ha). Another big bag of preloved clothing is heading to my slighty younger nephew.
Despite all this hive of activity I managed to squeeze in some crafting (well I did have to have a break!) and today was the launch of the new fortnight challenge over at Pollycraft - the theme being Ruby Red. Well as I had some Lil Dumplings already printed out, it was a no-brainer to use the very girlie and cute "Queenie":
The papers are one of the lovely MME pads "Market" - I loved the crowns. Teamed it up with some mulberry flowers and gems. The sentiment was cut from one of the papers in the pad. Due to my dodgy photography skills you can't see the glamour dust I used on her wings or the glossy accents on her crown.
Well off for a lie down now - exhausted!!!!

Back from my Hols!
Yes - we have returned from a fortnight in North Wales. It was fantastic - the weather was glorious which makes such a difference, not that I have a tan, Factor 50 all the way for me!! There were no cries of "I'm bored" from the boys so that means it was a success. Now just working my way through loads of washing and trying to find space for the extra things we brought back.
Anyway, this little card is making it's way by the skin of it's teeth to this week's Pollycraft Challenge which closes later today. The theme was Stars and Stripes and after a dig about the paper stash this is what I came up with:
Have used "Brains" from Lil Dumplings - a total snip at £1.49! He also has lots of little friends which are too cute for words! The papers are Fancy Pants "Off to School" and I thought they went so well with Brains. The little sentiment is hanging from a piece of acetate and is cute from one of the FP papers and the little apple is a Quickutz die cut (haven't used them for ages, forgot what great shapes I had - not to self: must use them more!) Finished off with a few gems and jobs a good 'un!
Paula's also running this fab offer until 18 July:
Well better be off - the washing machine calls!!!

A little something for the holidays!
Long time no see! June has been a manic month for me - lots of things going on at school for the boys and I so the days have just whizzed by. We have a day and a half until our summer hols starts - hoorah!!!!
The other thing that's kept me busy is organising gifts for the boys' teachers - it's a minefield! You want to get something that says thank you for all you've done for my hooligans but not anything overboard but at the same time nothing stingy. Luckily as a secondary teacher I get bugger all from my students - I might get a "have a nice holiday" if I'm lucky ha ha.
I also like to give something to my hard working colleagues for putting up with me for another year and it does usually involve something alcoholic (although the bottle I've used in the pictures isn't!). Along came Pollycraft's Paula with her cute "Lil Dumplings" and I knew exactly what I was going to do - make bottle labels. These were perfect for that summer holiday feeling we have at the minute and just teamed it up with some fab summery American Craft papers and a few charms. Caution - picture heavy!
I would like to enter these into the brand new Pollycraft Challenges which has a first challenge of "Anything Goes". Although you do not have to use a Pollycraft image to enter the Pollycraft Challenges, if you do Paula has launched a fabulous "Craft for Credit" scheme where you get £0.30 credit every time you enter a challenge (one credit per challenge) with a Pollycraft image.
Gosh, I've tired myself out with this mammoth post!!

Hello!
Anyway here is a little card which I am entering into this week's The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge:
This is Pippa from the Candfloss Crew over at Pollycraft - the thing I love about using digis is that you can print them out any size you like which allowed me to chop a bit off Pippa for this sketch (sounds a bit painful doesn't it???!) The papers are American Crafts "Shoreline" and the stickers are from American Crafts as well. There is some stickles on there and the flowers and gems were in my stash.

Mr Fix It
Good afternoon - I'm enjoying a day off school today due to a local holiday (the boys are still at school though) so it's been very peaceful and quiet. It's also my youngest's 7th birthday today - where does the time go??
Now, my dad is of an age where if you needed any diy done you did it yourself so this card is very appropriate (although Mr Fix It's overall's are far too clean!). If you say to my dad that you've seen something in the shop his usual reply is "don't buy it, I could make it!".
So this fella is another image from the relaunched Pollycraft and is of course called Mr Fix It. The papers are Prima's "Craftsman" which I thought was appropriate. The little hammer and wrench charms, twine and binding were in my stash and the round sentiment is Craftwork Cards. The letter stickers are American Crafts "Remarks" which I am quite fond of at the minute.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - "H for Happy" (the word Happy had to appear on your card)
Cards for Men - "Dad"
Moving along with the Times - a sketch (which I have rotated)
Well off to enjoy the few hours I have left to myself before the boys come home!
