All that Glitters

Hello again - this is my second post today (please check out my fancy letters and noticeboard posts and tell me what you think of them!!)

This little card combines a fab sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge and the theme of "All that Glitters" for this week's Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge

The papers are Pink Petticoat "Wild Blossoms" which was a magazine freebie and the lovely little fairy is of course Tilda coloured with promarkers. Her wings have glamour dust and the flower has some sparkly stickles on the petals. The flowers, buttons and charm are from my stash. The 2 little pearls are Melissa Frances "Trinkets and Baubles".

Boys are still out playing so I might be able to squeeze in another card before hubby comes home at 6pm.

Thanks for visiting!

Fancy Letters

Hi there - hope all is well with you? I seem to have all the children from the houses in my garden playing at the minute! As long as it keeps my two out of my hair then I don't mind!!

For today I have a couple of pictures of some wooden letters which I have decorated using Decopatch papers. It was fun to do and not too messy! Although they looked good as they were I decided to add some embellishments. The "F" is for my sister and the "T" for my mum.

Thanks for popping by!

Teacups

Good afternoon! Had a busy few days - Mum and I went over to the Titanic Belfast museum yesterday on the ferry. If you are interested in the Titanic from manufacture to its untimely end it is worth a visit.

Haven't made a card for you this time, I've made a noticeboard (courtesy of an idea from Hobbycraft)!! Loved this remnant of material and teamed it up with wadding and bias binding, stapled it all to a canvas then sewed some buttons on to make it easier to hold things. I have another 3 canvases and lots of material left so guess what I'll be making?? If you've never looked at the Hobbycraft site they have a great ideas library covering all sorts of crafts - well worth a look.

Happy Birthday!

Good afternoon - yesterday was a no crafting day, it was way too nice to be stuck inside! The boys and I went to a play farm which ended up really busy. The boys enjoyed bouncing on the big pillows, riding go-karts and kicking a football.

This little card uses Dovecraft's Princess Fairytale paper and an image from Sugar Nellie (I think, the stamp has lost it's packet!). The sentiment is Craftwork Cards and the little buttons are Papermania.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I have finally managed to get the pictures of the boys and their creations from the other day. All I did was cut the backing paper. All the colouring in was their own work!

Hamish (age 8)

Logan (age 6)

Hope you think they are as talented as I do!!!

Thanks for stopping by, Sheena xx

Strawberry Fields

Afternoon! This is my second post for today. Been to the cinema - Ice Age 4 was pretty good, the boys enjoyed it. Played with another Sketch Challenge - Sunday Sketch & Stamp - and Passion for Promarkers are looking for "fruity" creations! This is what I came up:

This little cutie is Sugar Nellie's "Faye and Freddie" coloured using promarkers (of course!). The papers were from a freebie pack in a craft magazine and are Raspberry Road "Summer Goodness" and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. The little flowers and the wooden toadstool are from Ebay. I know it's not obvious but there is sparkle on Faye's wings!

After all this craftiness I need a lie down!

Wonderful Friend

Good morning - is it nice where you are? We have it dry at the minute, hooray! My sunburn is now peeling so that looks ever so attractive lol! Boys and I are going to the cinema this afternoon to see Ice Age 4 - looking forward to it.

Spotted a few challenges to take part in -

* Just Magnolia - Let's Make a Birthday Card
* The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge - Sketch with Fun with Numbers

One of my oldest friends is 40 next month so I decided to make this card for her - we've known each other for 28 years, scary stuff!!

I do love this Magnolia image (this is it's first inking, hanging head in shame). The papers and frame are Melissa Frances "Attic Treasures". The flowers are from my stash and the sentiments are Craftwork Cards.

Fifty Shades ....

... of sunburn (bet you weren't expecting that ending!!). Yes, I am sunburnt after going to the Rewind Festival at Scone Palace in Perth - it was awesome. Bay City Rollers, Right Said Fred, Five Star, Go West, Midge Ure to name a few - 80s heaven!!!

Sadly the rain has since made an appearance and the boys are driving me mad. We did have a crafting session on Friday, as soon as there friends appeared to play outside they buggered off and left the mess!!!

Anyway, got a little card to show you which I would like to enter into a few challenges:

* Sketch Saturday #217
* Ooh la la Creations #110 - a recipe (1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments: ribbon, mini buttons and flowers)
* Cute Card Thursday #226 - Fairy Nice

When I need a fairy image I always head to my LOTV stamp collection - they do the cutest fairies! It was a great sketch to work with as well.

The papers are MME "Everyday Flair" which has such lovely soft colours. The little buttons are from Papermania and the little bit of ribbon and flowers were from my stash.

Off to see if my sunburn has stopped glowing in the dark ............

Safari Boutique

Good afternoon - thank goodness it's Friday! This morning we went to soft play to see if the boys could tire themselves out - I read (with a latte and little cake naturally!) The boys have not tired themselves out! They are the kind of boys who have to be doing something every minute of the day - it tires me out!

As much as I like making cards from all my bits and bobs and matching papers and embellies, it is sometimes nice to use a kit. Rustled up 3 cards from the Kanban "Safari Boutique" range of toppers and decoupage (die cut of course!!).

These 2 cards are nearly identical - the only difference is the image, border and sentiment. I chopped up the base card and inserted acetate just to make it a little different.

Was seeing stripes when I made this one! Just added some flowers and the sentiment. The flowers have some distress stickles.

The boys have been crafting this afternoon - trying not to hyperventilate when they are using my promarkers ...... Will put on their creations later on!

Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Catching Butterflies!

Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you - it is my second post today! This is a bit of a late one for the Just Magnolia challenge which is Bingo! I have chosen the top line - Buttons & Pins/Blue and Wings.

Have used the very under rated Edwin and teamed him up with First Edition's "Up, Up & Away" papers. The butterflies are courtesy of a Martha Stewart border punch and the button, seam binding and pins I had in my stash. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Time for a Gift

Good afternoon - hope it's not too wet where you are! It's quite nice here at the minute but as I have a washing on I'm sure it will rain soon!

This little creation came about through experimenting! I was originally just having a play about with Papermania's Botanical Print Urban stamps which I've had for ages but never used (oh the shame) TH Distress ink (Walnut Stain) and a red envelope! I liked the little panel I had made then realised that it formed a little pocket - perfect for a gift card! Used a Martha Stewart border punch just to tie in the insert with the butterfly theme.

I should experiment more often as I'm rather pleased with this, lol!

It's Me!!

Good afternoon - it's been totally ages since I posted a card! Probably because I've not been feeling very creative for the last 6 weeks. Between the end of term madness, school prom, a wedding to attend, 2 weeks holiday in Scarborough and generally doing other things, my craft table has cobwebs!! Having said that it's not stopped me buying craft stuff! In Falkirk a new Hobbycraft store has opened up so I just had to visit it - and I didn't buy too much .......

So I managed to pull my big girl pants up, gave myself a talking to and created a card using this cutie Tilda and some lovely paper from Prima - Meadow Lark. All the other little bits and pieces were in my stash. I used Promarkers and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. There is also a touch of sparkle on Tilda's wings and the flowers.

I would like to enter this card into this week's Anything Goes theme over at Divas by Design.

Thanks for popping by!
