Hello - I'm still here!

Gosh it's been ages since I put anything on here - it's embarrassing   I've been working 4 days since August and it's really  interfered with my crafting time so I've not done too much - too busy doing all the things in one day that I used to have 3 days to do it in!

Anyway, I do have something to show - I made it for my friend's 40th birthday recently. Used cardboard numbers and decopatched it. Added some embellies and here's the result:

Mmm Ice Cream

Good afternoon - hope it's glorious wherever you are! This morning the boys and I went to see "Brave" at Cineworld - they boys had their sweets finished before the adverts came on! We then ran the gauntlet which is school shoes shopping at Clarks (nightmare). After all that excitement and some lunch I'm finishing off this lovely day with a trip to the dentist, ha ha.

This little card is very appropriate for today's weather! Combining a fab sketch from Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge with the "Cool Summer Treats" theme over at Crafty Creations

This cheeky chappy is Pollycraft's Chester and I would love an ice cream that size! The papers were a magazine freebie.

Thanks for popping by!

Froggy Friend

Evening all. Got another wee card for you today this time with a garden theme. As I've said before I love using sketches. When I'm stuck for ideas, I look through all the sketches I've used in the past to give me inspiration - sometimes I even mix and match them!

This card is based on this week's sketch over at Friday Sketch Challenge. Now I will admit at first glance I wasn't sure how I'd work with it, but once I had decided on the image it came together (I think!!). I would also like to enter this into this week's Creative Inspirations challenge which is "In the Garden".

The little froggy (with his googly eyes) is an old digi stamp from Pollycraft coloured with promarkers. The papers are MME's "Kraft Funday" with the sentiments from Craftwork Cards. Not sure if I've overdone it with the gem star though!!

Thanks for popping by!

Best Wishes

Happy Monday! It's been a busy day in the White house - softplay, a small trip to Hobbycraft then lunch. They boys are currently outside playing swingball. Peace for the moment!

Tidied up some of my craft space yesterday and as usual found things that I had forgotten about - it's like buying them all over again!

Anyhoo onto my card. This one combines 3 challenges:

* Sweet Sketch Wednesday #165
* Divas by Design #46 - Flowers
* Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge #144 - Pink

Lovely Tilda casting a wish with her wand, teamed up with the lovely new papers from Prima "Tea Thyme" which has very muted pinks. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the flowers and seam binding were from ebay. As always there is a little sparkle there as well!

Thanks for visiting! Sheena xx

Just for You

Afternoon - a dry one here so far. Been swimming with the boys which they enjoyed. I took them out for lunch where Hamish managed to set a colouring pencil on fire - much to their amusement. Currently I have Hamish in Bill Oddie mode watching the birds in the garden - my favourite quote so far is "mummy, we have a bald eagle in the garden" - not bad for living in Falkirk lol!!

Anyway, onto my creation for today. This one is for this week's Sunday Sketch & Stamp challenge which was a great sketch to work with:

The image is a cutie from LOTV coloured with promarkers. The sentiment is Craftwork Cards and the paper is from a lovely Grace Taylor "Playtime" pad. The clouds are all glittery although you can't see it from this photo.

Thanks for visiting!

Popcorn

Evening all - are you enjoying the Olympic coverage? I've not been watching it non-stop but I did see (Sir) Brad win his gold - I can see sideburns becoming trendy again lol!!

Managed a little card, a departure from my usual style, got all grungy and distressed (that last bit was me making this card ha). Used a sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches. The image is a Magnolia and the ticket I got from ebay today (that's what gave me the idea!). The paper is a digi paper from Raspberry Road Designs and part of the Big Top collection. I then scrunched them all up and inked them with some TH. The negative strip is also from TH. The little dots are Card Candi from Craftwork Cards.

I hope you like my change of style!!

All that Glitters

Hello again - this is my second post today (please check out my fancy letters and noticeboard posts and tell me what you think of them!!)

This little card combines a fab sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge and the theme of "All that Glitters" for this week's Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge

The papers are Pink Petticoat "Wild Blossoms" which was a magazine freebie and the lovely little fairy is of course Tilda coloured with promarkers. Her wings have glamour dust and the flower has some sparkly stickles on the petals. The flowers, buttons and charm are from my stash. The 2 little pearls are Melissa Frances "Trinkets and Baubles".

Boys are still out playing so I might be able to squeeze in another card before hubby comes home at 6pm.

Thanks for visiting!

Fancy Letters

Hi there - hope all is well with you? I seem to have all the children from the houses in my garden playing at the minute! As long as it keeps my two out of my hair then I don't mind!!

For today I have a couple of pictures of some wooden letters which I have decorated using Decopatch papers. It was fun to do and not too messy! Although they looked good as they were I decided to add some embellishments. The "F" is for my sister and the "T" for my mum.

Thanks for popping by!

Teacups

Good afternoon! Had a busy few days - Mum and I went over to the Titanic Belfast museum yesterday on the ferry. If you are interested in the Titanic from manufacture to its untimely end it is worth a visit.

Haven't made a card for you this time, I've made a noticeboard (courtesy of an idea from Hobbycraft)!! Loved this remnant of material and teamed it up with wadding and bias binding, stapled it all to a canvas then sewed some buttons on to make it easier to hold things. I have another 3 canvases and lots of material left so guess what I'll be making?? If you've never looked at the Hobbycraft site they have a great ideas library covering all sorts of crafts - well worth a look.

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday!

Good afternoon - yesterday was a no crafting day, it was way too nice to be stuck inside! The boys and I went to a play farm which ended up really busy. The boys enjoyed bouncing on the big pillows, riding go-karts and kicking a football.

This little card uses Dovecraft's Princess Fairytale paper and an image from Sugar Nellie (I think, the stamp has lost it's packet!). The sentiment is Craftwork Cards and the little buttons are Papermania.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I have finally managed to get the pictures of the boys and their creations from the other day. All I did was cut the backing paper. All the colouring in was their own work!

Hamish (age 8)

Logan (age 6)

Hope you think they are as talented as I do!!!

Thanks for stopping by, Sheena xx

Strawberry Fields

Afternoon! This is my second post for today. Been to the cinema - Ice Age 4 was pretty good, the boys enjoyed it. Played with another Sketch Challenge - Sunday Sketch & Stamp - and Passion for Promarkers are looking for "fruity" creations! This is what I came up:

This little cutie is Sugar Nellie's "Faye and Freddie" coloured using promarkers (of course!). The papers were from a freebie pack in a craft magazine and are Raspberry Road "Summer Goodness" and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. The little flowers and the wooden toadstool are from Ebay. I know it's not obvious but there is sparkle on Faye's wings!

After all this craftiness I need a lie down!

Wonderful Friend

Good morning - is it nice where you are? We have it dry at the minute, hooray! My sunburn is now peeling so that looks ever so attractive lol! Boys and I are going to the cinema this afternoon to see Ice Age 4 - looking forward to it.

Spotted a few challenges to take part in -

* Just Magnolia - Let's Make a Birthday Card
* The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge - Sketch with Fun with Numbers

One of my oldest friends is 40 next month so I decided to make this card for her - we've known each other for 28 years, scary stuff!!

I do love this Magnolia image (this is it's first inking, hanging head in shame). The papers and frame are Melissa Frances "Attic Treasures". The flowers are from my stash and the sentiments are Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for popping by!

Fifty Shades ....

... of sunburn (bet you weren't expecting that ending!!). Yes, I am sunburnt after going to the Rewind Festival at Scone Palace in Perth - it was awesome. Bay City Rollers, Right Said Fred, Five Star, Go West, Midge Ure to name a few - 80s heaven!!!

Sadly the rain has since made an appearance and the boys are driving me mad. We did have a crafting session on Friday, as soon as there friends appeared to play outside they buggered off and left the mess!!!

Anyway, got a little card to show you which I would like to enter into a few challenges:

* Sketch Saturday #217
* Ooh la la Creations #110 - a recipe (1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments: ribbon, mini buttons and flowers)
* Cute Card Thursday #226 - Fairy Nice

When I need a fairy image I always head to my LOTV stamp collection - they do the cutest fairies! It was a great sketch to work with as well.

The papers are MME "Everyday Flair" which has such lovely soft colours. The little buttons are from Papermania and the little bit of ribbon and flowers were from my stash.

Off to see if my sunburn has stopped glowing in the dark ............

Safari Boutique

Good afternoon - thank goodness it's Friday! This morning we went to soft play to see if the boys could tire themselves out - I read (with a latte and little cake naturally!) The boys have not tired themselves out! They are the kind of boys who have to be doing something every minute of the day - it tires me out!

As much as I like making cards from all my bits and bobs and matching papers and embellies, it is sometimes nice to use a kit. Rustled up 3 cards from the Kanban "Safari Boutique" range of toppers and decoupage (die cut of course!!).

These 2 cards are nearly identical - the only difference is the image, border and sentiment. I chopped up the base card and inserted acetate just to make it a little different.

Was seeing stripes when I made this one! Just added some flowers and the sentiment. The flowers have some distress stickles.

The boys have been crafting this afternoon - trying not to hyperventilate when they are using my promarkers ...... Will put on their creations later on!

Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Catching Butterflies!

Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you - it is my second post today! This is a bit of a late one for the Just Magnolia challenge which is Bingo! I have chosen the top line - Buttons & Pins/Blue and Wings.

Have used the very under rated Edwin and teamed him up with First Edition's "Up, Up & Away" papers. The butterflies are courtesy of a Martha Stewart border punch and the button, seam binding and pins I had in my stash. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for popping by!

Time for a Gift

Good afternoon - hope it's not too wet where you are! It's quite nice here at the minute but as I have a washing on I'm sure it will rain soon!

This little creation came about through experimenting! I was originally just having a play about with Papermania's Botanical Print Urban stamps which I've had for ages but never used (oh the shame) TH Distress ink (Walnut Stain) and a red envelope! I liked the little panel I had made then realised that it formed a little pocket - perfect for a gift card! Used a Martha Stewart border punch just to tie in the insert with the butterfly theme.

I should experiment more often as I'm rather pleased with this, lol!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Me!!

Good afternoon - it's been totally ages since I posted a card! Probably because I've not been feeling very creative for the last 6 weeks. Between the end of term madness, school prom, a wedding to attend, 2 weeks holiday in Scarborough and generally doing other things, my craft table has cobwebs!! Having said that it's not stopped me buying craft stuff! In Falkirk a new Hobbycraft store has opened up so I just had to visit it - and I didn't buy too much .......

So I managed to pull my big girl pants up, gave myself a talking to and created a card using this cutie Tilda and some lovely paper from Prima - Meadow Lark. All the other little bits and pieces were in my stash. I used Promarkers and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. There is also a touch of sparkle on Tilda's wings and the flowers.

I would like to enter this card into this week's Anything Goes theme over at Divas by Design.

Thanks for popping by!

So this little cutie is Summer Flower Tilda coloured with Promarkers. The papers are Prima "Fairy Belle" and the card blank and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards. Although you can't see it from my rubbish photo, Tilda's wings have been glamour dusted and the flowers have been stickled!!

In the Shed

Morning all - hope most of you are enjoying a day off thanks to our lovely Liz! While most of the schools in Scotland have a day off, my 2 boys have no such luck and are at school (although they are having a Jubilee party so it won't be too bad!).

Anyway, onto a little card for Father's Day which I would like to enter into this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge which was a fab sketch to use.

The little bear is a cute square from LOTV - Busy Bears, In the Shed. The papers are WRMK "Travel Light" (magazine freebie I think).  Word card candi and card blank from Craftwork Cards. The sentiment was computer generated.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for popping by!

Thanks to those of you who entered into my 40th Birthday Candy - the winner (picked by random.org) is comment 6 which is:

Laura

Well done! Please email me (white_sheena@hotmail.com) with your address so I can post it out!!

This week has flown past and I've not done a bit of crafting - how bad is that?? I blame it on the fact that I did an extra day at school this week and it really threw me off my usual routine. I do promise to get back to the crafting this week!

Man of the Match!

I have been putting off having a major tidy of the boys' playroom - it's reaching the stage you can't see the floor and you can forget even playing in there! Will I do it today ..... probably not, lol!

Youngest is 6 at the start of June so made this card for him using a great sketch from the Sweet Stop who were also looking for the twist of ruffles. I made my ruffles from paper - I hope this counts!!

The paper pad I've used is Echo Park "A Boy's Life". The image is one of the new releases from LOTV - perfect for my football mad son! Under the number 6 is a gem star.

Up, Up and Away!

I've been doing well this week with the crafting although it's not crafting weather - woohoo for sunshine!!

This little card is based on a sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp. Have used a bundle of beary cuteness from LOTV so entering this into this week's challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies as well. It would be lovely going up in a balloon in this weather!

The papers were from a pad that was free in a craft magazine and the buttons were in my button tin. The little clouds are from my memory box die.

Special Friends

Good afternoon - the weather is finally gorgeous here, hooray! The boys are off playing football with hubby and I have some peace and quiet - bliss!!

Yesterday my oldest was 8 years old, eek, where does the time go? He had a party with 12 friends at a soft play so it was at least painless for us, until we had to pay the bill that is!!

I decided to spend some of my birthday money today and treated myself to a Kindle touch. I'd spent ages saying that I preferred to read a "real" book and a Kindle wasn't the same but it would be handy for the holidays - sometimes I pack more books than clothes, I love reading!!

Anyway, enough blethering and onto my card. Entering this into a few challenges:

Divas by Design are Ticked Pink!
Cute Card Thursday are looking for a Touch of Sparkle! and
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge wants to Hear it from the Girls! (and have a DT call!)

I do love this LOTV image which I've coloured with Promarkers. The wings have been glamour dusted (I think you can just about see some shimmer!). The papers are Dovecraft's "Back to Basics" which includes lovely pinks and the flowers are from my stash. The card blank, sentiment and card candi are from Craftwork Cards. The flowers have also been sparkled up with some stickles!

Rosie Posy

Evening all! Middle of the week already, this means work for me tomorrow :<

Haven't made a card for a few days, just seem to have lots of other things to do and was just not organised to get crafty!

Got a little birthday card to show you using LOTV "Rosie Posy" coloured with Promarkers. I've also layered her up a bit which, thanks to the angle of the photo, makes her fringe look a bit severe!!

The papers are Fancy Pants "It's the Little Things" which I have not used for ages. The card blank, card candi and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards. The flowers are from various places!

I have used the lovely sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp and would also like to take part in the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge of Happy Birthday!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and see you soon!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge #139 - Colour Inspiration Photo

Good evening all - this post is really late, sorry! I do have an excuse though! I celebrated my 40th birthday yesterday with a party and I didn't have enough time to write this up. I had a lovely time and received many lovely presents - I'm very lucky! My mum also made me a scrapbook charting my life from birth until now, it was very emotional!

Anyway, it is my turn to host this week's Pollycraft Challenge and I have chosen a photo to inspire you! All you have to do is use it for:

So hidden in there are pinks, reds, creams and white - I think there is also some blue and purple lurking!

Now isn't this fella too cute?? He's Love Monster from Pollycraft and I've used promarkers to colour him in. The papers are Dovecraft's Back to Basics and the candi and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards. Simples!

We are delighted to be sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts which is offering the winner a £10 voucher to spend.

So I do hope we have inspired you to join us this week and I look forward to seeing your creations.

Marley Bloom

Good evening! I had meant to get this posted a bit earlier but things got in the way! I have been doing well with regular postings but I can say in advance that apart from this card, I've only made some commissions so I don't think I will have anything else to post until Saturday due do that irritating thing called work!

Created this card with a few challenges in mind. The little cutie pie is Pollycraft's Marley Bloom who has been coloured with Promarkers. The papers are Crate Paper's "Neighbourhood Collection".  The beads were in my stash as were the pearls.

Boys, Boys, Boys

Good afternoon - hope you're all back to normal after the holiday weekend? I always end of feeling a day behind! Our trip to Edinburgh Castle was really good and was enjoyed by all. We then went to the Museum of Childhood which has a collection of the most (not intentionally) creepy dolls ever.

Anyway, want to use this week's fab sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp along with Lili's Little Fairies  "Anything Goes". I hope this card is also suitable for Ooh La La Creations "Make it Manly" theme.

Unusually, used an 8x8 card blank to fit my stamped LOTV images on and used up some random pieces of paper! The buttons were from my button box (they have card candi on the top of them).

I think I might keep this card for the boys to give on Father's Day in June!

At the Circus

Good morning all and happy Bank Holiday for those of you in the UK! Oldest son and I are about to head off to Edinburgh Castle for the day (youngest doesn't want to go and will stay with dad) although I hope the rain stays off long enough! Typical for a Bank Holiday in May!

Anyway, have a little card to show you starring Pollycraft's Biscuit Circus - isn't he cute? Paula's offering a great deal at the minute - Build a Bundle - you get to choose your own digis, 10 digis for  £3.99 or 20 digis for £4.99 which is fantastic value! Also the Pollycraft Monday Challenge is going fortnightly so the next challenge will be announced on 14 May, so you still have time to enter the current challenge.

I would like to enter this card into 2 challenges:

Cute Card Thursday are looking for One for the Boys and the Secret Crafter Challenge had a fab sketch to follow:

Baby Girl

Good afternoon - hope you've been enjoying the weekend? Here in the White house we've been to softplay, gone shopping and played football outside (you'll notice there's no mention of housework!).

Managed to sneak in some crafty time and have created a card which I want to enter for this week's Monochromatic theme over at Divas by Design Challenge:

The papers are Dovecraft "Back to Basics" and of course baby Tilda is coloured with promarkers. The sentiment, card blank and card candi are from Craftwork Cards and the flowers are a mixture of Wild Orchid Crafts and Crafty Emma's Store. The little cabochon flowers was from Ebay. The flowers have a little glitter on them and the dummy has a coat of glossy accents.
